Qld closed for Christmas? December is D-Day!

September 27, 2021

COME Christmas, if the inhibitions of our freedoms have not been relinquished there will be hell to pay, KAP Federal Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter, has warned.

The emphatic words are in response to the Courier Mail’s front page today which confirms a very real possibility that Queensland [1] will
remain shut off from the rest of the country during the festive season.

Mr Katter says that come December, the power-hungry Premier would have had nearly two years to get the State’s affairs sorted and that the situation today is worse than it was two years ago; particularly as unpicked fruit rots and tourism and accommodation businesses shut up shop.

“This has been going on now for nearly two years and the figures are worse now than they were a year ago,” Mr Katter said.

“There are hundreds of diseases that we just have to live with every day like influenza, Hep C, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, gastroenteritis, salmonella, pneumonia, measles, chicken pox and shingles.

“And to point out the vast hypocrisy of the State Government we also live with leptospirosis, lyssavirus and hendra virus, all of which are carried by flying foxes that are in plague proportions, blanketing towns and cities, Cairns and Charters Towers to name but two. And the
State Government refuses to allow us to do anything about them because they are confined to the north of the state, therefore it doesn’t matter – we don’t matter.

“The fascist-like arrogance is extraordinary, and I don’t think there is anyone on either side of the argument that is not saying that the Queensland Government isn’t enjoying its power, even the dumbest psychologist will give you a run on that one.

“KAP, up to date, believe that the Governments, good-or-bad, they have had their right to have a go at this. But by December, they will have had nearly two years and arguably we have more cases and more deaths now than we had two years ago.

“There is no doubt that Covid is a contributing factor in many of these deaths, but sadly many of the deaths would have taken place with or without Covid. In any event, you’ve had your chance, you’ve had a huge run at it, and life as we know it is not going to become Dr Moreau’s Island and this sure aint’ the black death.

“In December, we will take the strongest of positions that you’ve had your chance, you’re not going to abolish it, and we are going to say you’ve failed miserably protecting against it.

“Queensland with much sparser population patterns than the tenement rabbit warrens of Sydney and Melbourne, gives us a better ability to respond to the volatile epidemic occurrences that have characterised the southern states.

“The draconian fascism will cease in the New Year, and if you haven’t got the message from the violence and extremism that you have precipitated, you clearly don’t read history books. People are becoming more aware of the freedoms they have sacrificed. And when that occurs, the people who take control off the ruling class are the university city-suits that control not only the Labor party in Queensland, but very sadly a lot of our trade unions as well.

“Well, I serve warning, December is D Day.”
