Forrest Beach gets a Wingman

April 1, 2021

A SAVVY investment by a national brewing company is turning heads at one of the Hinchinbrook’s beachside destinations.

Wingman Beer is pushing ahead with upgrades to Forrest Beach Hotel and resort as part of its Phase One expansion plans in Queensland.

“The physical upgrades to the resort are the natural first steps, and we’re setting our focus on more than just the 52 powered camping & caravan sites and amenities, and motel rooms,” said Wingman Beer general manager Will Chambers.

“We envisage the five acres of heaven on the shores of the Coral Sea providing the perfect backdrop to host high-profile events, and drive intra and interstate visitation to the local region. Through Wingman’s extensive network across the sporting and entertainment landscape, conversations are already in play.

“Wingman Beer has also invested in a courtesy bus, which will begin operating to and from Ingham to the Forrest Beach Hotel in the near future, allowing local families to relax and enjoy the new activities in the pipeline.”

Founded in 2017 in regional NSW, the company has since relocated operations to South East Queensland in mid-2020 and has begun work on a state-of-the-art brewery.

“Wingman Beer presents the market with a clean, crisp, lager, with no bitter after taste, across both full and mid-strength, and soon to launch zero-alcohol product range,” Mr Chambers said.

“Our low carbonation means Wingman Beer is the ideal “sessionable lager”, and although that means consumers can drink more without feeling bloated, we are committed to delivering Wingman Beer’s brand-value of making good decisions, because the Wingman always has your back.”

Forrest Beach Hotel owner Neil Haslam said he was thrilled with Wingman’s plans for the site.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with the guys from Wingman. Their enthusiasm is contagious and I believe the vision they have for the property will put Forrest Beach on the map,” he said.

“They are making a significant investment because they really believe in the town and the venue.”

Hinchinbrook MP Nick Dametto praised Wingman Beer for choosing to invest in Forrest Beach.

“The decision by Wingman Beer to invest in Forrest Beach Hotel is a vote of confidence in the tourism potential our region has to offer,” Mr Dametto said.

“These are exactly the sort of ventures Hinchinbrook needs to diversify our economy and become the destination of choice for visitors across Australia and the world.

“I look forward to continuing to work with all stakeholders in growing our region’s tourism offering.”
