CopperString “Progress” Delivers no Certainty to Customers, Miners: Katter

You can herald the unlocking of mines with a media release announcing early earthworks all you want, but mines and investors are desperate to know the date, the year, even the decade when they will be able to access grid power supply in the North West minerals province, the KAP leader Robbie Katter has said.

“There’s only one question that anyone in government needs to answer; ‘WHEN?’”

“Will the North West have grid-power by 2030?  2040?  2050?  Just let us know, and we’ll let our grandkids know when to expect it.

“There’s not much point continuing to talk about this if you’re not going to offer a bankable date.  Without a date, it simply becomes a slogan with no substance.

“I hope the mines we already have now aren’t force to their knees paying some of the developed world’s highest industrial power prices before then, let alone supporting new mines,” Mr Katter said.
