Saltie shaker (Townsville Bulletin, September 1)
TOWNSVILLE'S Stuart Waugh reckoned in the Bully this week he won't fish in the Ross River because of crocs and he won't walk on the beach at Pallarenda because one of the living dinosaurs might swim off with him to its lair in Three Mile Creek. What's the bet he stands well to one side when he turns on the garden hose just in case a swamp dog pops out. Ditto the shower rose. If Stu is that worried he might be better off moving to some place like Uluru or Winton where there is less chance of being munched by a snapper. He is right about them having bred up in numbers and for the need to catch and relocate ones living close to towns and cities. Fat chance it's going to happen. He might have to wait until they start turning up in the West End reaches of the Brisbane River before anyone takes notice.

It’s 2018 and it seems we’ve gone backwards to the dark ages (Daily Mercury, September 1)
CROCODILES have infested our waterways over the past 20 years to an extent where it has become a joke and very dangerous. It's only a matter of time before a child or adult is taken. This could easily happen with swimming and paddle boarding activities in and around our waterways, not to mention at popular boat ramps such as Constant Creek and Proserpine River whilst launching your boat.

He says those who are not financial members of Qld Dairyfarmers' Organisation aren't entitled to claim the levy.
